When I created this blog a few months ago I intended to use it as a practice platform for my writing; a place to exercise my fingers and flex my creative muscles. I had been thinking for several months that the time was long overdue for dusting off the keyboard and the imagination. I would discuss important social, economic, and political issues on the local and international scale. I might even occasionally wax philosophical about some of the more esoteric facets of human behavior (this would probably be relegated to me ragging on people that I don't like). With so many subjects from which to choose, the question arises: where do I start? Should I start with the "war" in Iraq, illegal immigration, genetic engineering, global warming, or the Austin Blizzard of 2007? I thought none of these have the...impact I need for my first official entry into this blog. Thus, I begin.
