Alas, my friend of 26 years has thrown the gauntlet at my feet, and honor has obligated me to accept his challenge and meet him upon the field of his choice. We selected lances and my friend, David Merten, has chosen the page as our field. The battle will be waged across our two blogs through articles written from each viewpoint. The question posed that began this collaboration was about the nature of time, and how we each perceive its value. What is considered a waste of time? Why is one activity more wasteful than another? I have chosen my side, and David has chosen his. We narrowed the debate down to a more specific question: What is a greater waste of time, playing video games or reading books? David was the first to land a blow. Did he deliver the blow that would unhorse me, or did the lance but scrape my shield? Head on over to his blog here and decide for yourself.
