Sundays can kind of suck. I mean, think about it. Fridays are fun because everyone is in a good mood and looking forward to the weekend. Saturdays are great because you don't have to go to work and you have a whole day of free time to look forward to. But Sunday, well, Sunday is different. Yes, it's still the weekend. But what comes after Sunday? You guessed it: Monday. And it's conventional wisdom that Mondays suck. That's a lot of pressure to put on Sunday, and quite often, the whole façade of the "weekend" comes crashing down in the face of all of that pressure. In light of this truth, Kelley and I have been trying to do things out of the norm on Sundays to prevent what she calls "the Mollie Grubs" from getting the best of us.
This Sunday we decided to throw together a Shrimp Boil Oscar Watching Party. We called a few friends and family, bought beer, shrimp, and all of the accoutrements and all gathered

at my house to see what Hollywood had in store for us this year. It was a cool night, so we set up a television and table outside. We covered the table in newspaper and Kelley dumped the food out onto the newspaper. Everyone popped tops on beers, grabbed plates, napkins and settled in to see who the winners and losers would be.
All in all I'd say we vanquished the Mollie Grubs before they could ruin the last day of the weekend.
Mission Accomplished.
Kirk out.
