Where the Wild Things Are arrives this Friday at a theater near you!

Just in case you live under a rock, or are like me and rarely watch television, I wanted to remind everyone that Spike Jonze's adaptation of the beloved children's book Where the Wild Things Are hits theaters this Friday, October 16th. So far, it's gotten pretty good reviews, but I am (and have been) pretty skeptical. Maurice Sendak's book (published in 1963!) is more than just a book to me and millions of other readers. The pages contain not only the story, but memories of childhood that have attached themselves by association. Oh, I'm sure I'll go and see it.

But if Spike gets it wrong...hell hath no fury like that of a dissapointed fanboy.

Bump!

Considering my lengthy hiatus from the blog and subsequent return to writing anything approaching legitimate of late, I've decided to bump parts 1-4 of my short story Playing to the top of the post list, to precede yesterday's latest addition--Playing: Part V. In the event that parts 1-4 are blurry or fuzzy in memory, they are at hand for your reading pleasure. Hopefully, I haven't alienated the few regular readers I have/had.

Thank you for your continued support. The house is coming together, and is no longer taking up every waking moment of my time (every moment that isn't spent working, that is). I've got a few reviews to write and perhaps a couple of personal-type items I would like to get down on the page, so stay tuned!
