I suppose that posting the Tron Legacy trailer was rather timely considering what I just read over at Screen Rant. Of course it should come as no surprise that Disney is looking to revitalize a few properties that are still sitting on their shelves. And what better way to do that than a remake? Yep. It seems everyday some news of a fresh, new remake is coming out of Hollywood, and Disney's The Black Hole is apparently the most recent victim. This incarnation of the 1979 classic is being drug out of the trunk and having the dust beaten out of it by the same team that is on Tron Legacy. I must admit that Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski has some pretty interesting things to say about the direction they are taking with it. I just hope they don't jack it up. The design for the ship USS Cygnus was one of the coolest ship designs ever, and who could forget the malcontent robot Maximilian?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
What is actually even more coincidental about this whole thing is that I happen to have just borrowed the original The Black Hole from my dad, and it will soon serve as fodder for the next Sound and Fury Retro-Review. Tune in then for my thoughts on the original, and click here to read more about this latest remake.

'Tron Legacy' is further evidence of all things 80's making their comeback.
This trailer has been floating around for a while now (it premiered in 2008 at the San Diego Comic Con), but I thought it would be pretty relevant to all of the posts about dystopic and cyber-punk related books and films that I've been onto lately.
Tron Legacy is due out this December and is the direct sequel to the 1982 cult film Tron, starring Jeff Bridges. One of the most exciting things about this film is the fact that Bridges is coming back for the role he originated. It looks like Disney is trying to stay pretty close to the source material also, which is a definite plus. We'll see how it all pans out. For now, this is all we have. Enjoy, and talk about it below.
